Yes, installation was as easy as it gets. I oriented the gauge so it can be read from the side when I open the storage door. It provides an additional quick check on relative fuel level as well as leak detection. Of course, the additional safety it provides is the real benefit. A little more piece of mind is always good.

GasStop is an incredibly easy to use device that should really be standard equipment. We’ve had one on each of our 30lb. bottles since the RV show, and it’s a great peace of mind!
Note: We purchased ours, they were not given to us. For the rest of our review/testing, check out Changing Lanes RV:

The GasStop propane safety valve was very easy to install on the 5-gallon/20lb propane tank on my Rpod. In my humble opinion, this device should be mandated for use on all vehicles traveling on the roads with propane bottles – especially on RVs that are capable of running the refrigerator using propane while traveling. This will give me a new sense of security and safety and put my mind at ease when rolling down the road with my refrigerator burning propane. I posted an installation video on this product on my 4LowRocks channel on YouTube (but I did use my own money to purchase the valve unit). Check it out at:

Not a very exciting picture, however I discovered (with the GasStop minor leak test) that I had an empty tank on one side and a gas leak at the regulator connection on the other side . It didn’t take me long to decide that I made a good investment. JR

Excellent quality build, works as expected. Hope we never get a real world test of the capabilities!

One small unexpected complication: in order to accommodate the additional length, we had to rotate the tanks to be able close the compartment door, and our original equipment “pigtails” are both too stiff and too short to do this easily.

Greetings Sir.. Thanks for taking the time to give us your thoughts and the picture! Yes, we do find that some of those propane enclosures are designed to minimum clearances.. so adding the GasStop can sometimes create the need to do that rotation of the tanks to allow them to fit. We have also found that many of our customers have also taken the opportunity to refresh their pigtails with new, longer ones.. less stiff, and since these get the most wear- an added bit of safety. Thanks again for your business, and for protecting your family and RV with GasStop!

Unable to install. Tried but it is to long for my system. When I put my bottle cover on it pinches the hose shut.

Unable to install; propane compartment too small.

I bought two of the GasStops for our as yet undelivered travel trailer but tested them on our gas bbq. They work great and are very easy to prime. I feel the GasStops are essential for safety in the event of a major propane leak plus you have the ability to monitor tank levels and have an indication of a slow leak. Just for safety’s sake, I highly recommend.

I bought two, as our Keystone Cougar 5th wheel has two separate 30lb tanks, one on each side of the rig. Once I saw the video, it was a “no-brainer” because we have a flex line going to our stove, directly over our left front tire – DANGEROUS!
